Operating Procedures

  1. Home team coaches will:
  2. Open the concession stand, restrooms, and equipment room.
  3. Be responsible for field maintenance.
  4. Have two parents from their team run the concession stand and one parent or coach run the scoreboard.
  5. Shut and lock the concession stand, restrooms, and equipment room after the last game of the night.
  6. Concessions workers will:
  7. Arrive 30 mins before game time.
  8. For the first game of the night, turn on the appliances and begin warming food.
  9. Be conscious of food to be made to not have a lot of extra/waste.
  10. For the last game of the night, clean up and turn off all of the electrical appliances.
  11. For the last game of the night, restock all restrooms.
  12. NOTE: Adults must be present in the concession stand, no one under the age of 18 may work concessions unsupervised by an adult.
  13. Game Day Maintenance :
  14. First game of the night:
  15. Bring the scoreboard control out of the concession stand and turn on the scoreboard.
  16. Rake the infield positional areas or drag if needed.
  17. Fill in any low areas around the bases, home plate, or pitcher's mound.
  18. Lime batters box and baselines.
  19. Pick up garbage left in the dugout after your game.
  20. Last game of the night:
  21. Drag the entire field and rake around the bases, home plate, and pitchers' mound after your game.
  22. Fill in any low areas around the bases, home plate, or pitcher's mound.
  23. Pick up garbage left in the dugout after your game.
  24. Empty full garbage cans into the dumpsters and replace the bag in the garbage can.
  25. Turn off the scoreboard and return the scoreboard control to the concession stand and plug it into the correct charger.
  26. Game Results:
  27. Winning coach must send results to the league commissioner as well as the website coordinator by email or text message.
  28. Coaches can send pictures or statistics to the league commissioner and the website coordinator if they would like as some may be highlighted on the website at times throughout the season.
  29. Cancellations:
  30. As a rule of thumb we try to play every game during its originally scheduled time slot to avoid scheduling conflicts later on in the season.
  31. Weather cancellation decisions will be made by the coaches of the scheduled game. It is the coach's responsibility to contact each other to discuss canceling. If the decision is made to cancel the game it is the coach's responsibility to contact their respective team and inform them of the cancellation. The home team head coach is responsible for contacting the umpires to inform them of the cancellation. The coaches from the canceled game will need to agree upon a makeup date and time based on openings in the league calendar and confirm with the league commissioner. The home team head coach will be responsible for confirming with the umpire coordinator to make sure umpires will be available.
  32. If for any reason the league sees a need to cancel games, the board of directors will make that decision and send notice to the whole league of the cancelation.
  33. Umpires:
  34. Umpires need to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  35. Get league-provided protective equipment as needed from the equipment shed (chest protector, face mask, and shin protectors).
  36. Get league-provided game equipment from the equipment shed (2 new balls for each game, ball/strike/out clicker).
  37. Umpires are responsible for in game weather cancellations.
  38. At the conclusion of the game have the home team coach sign your time card.
